Sunbrella at Interior Design Hall of Fame

In the I.M. Pei & Partners-designed Jacob K. Javits Center, Sunbrella partnered with Interior Design and Hall-of-Famers Tsao & McKown to create a new experiential design space for a very special evening.

The journey through the Sunbrella Hall played with perceptions of dimension and depth through strategically draped Sunbrella performance fabric and braid—expanding, contracting and drawing dramatic focus to the entryway of the banquet hall. There, Interior Design inducted four talented new members who have dramatically shaped the industry: Robin Klehr Avia, Gensler (Leadership), Peter Q. Bohlin, Bohlin Cywinski Jackson (Architecture), Mark Zeff, MARKZEFF (Design), and Lidewij Edelkoort, Trend Union (Influence).

The event held another treat: guest of honor I.M. Pei. Celebrating his 100th birthday with the Hall of Fame, Pei was given a special tribute while he enjoyed an evening in the space his own firm designed, and which was staged by his protégé, Calvin Tsao of Tsao & McKown.
